About Thinking Security

Thinking Security was established in 2003 to provide Information Security Consultancy services to Small to Medium Enterprises. Our consultants have over 10 years experience in Information Security, and, as well as holding significant industry recognised qualifications such as CISSP and BS7799 Lead Auditor, have come from a strong front-line technical background implementing security solutions.

We are also very proud to have been recognised as a practice member of the Institute of Business Consulting, and we are told that we are the first Information Security Consultancy to do so.

Our lead consultant, Simon Biles, has co-authored several publications on Information Security including the Snort Cookbook on the open source intrusion detection system, and Hacking Exposed Linux: Linux Security Secrets and Solutions on Linux security. A few other papers, documents and resources can be found in the Research section. You can also read Simon's writing on the Thinking Security Blog at Computer Security Online or follow him on Twitter.

Our head office is at Start Electron on the Science and Innovation Campus in Harwell, Oxfordshire. We are close to M4 Junction 13, and just off the A34 - the mainline station of Didcot Parkway is also a short distance away. This gives us an ideal base to easily service a large area of the country.
